Sizing measurements provided on the size chart are a range for the person who will be wearing the garment, NOT measurements of the item itself. Locate your body measurements on the size chart to determine which size you should purchase. To get an accurate body measurement, always keep the measuring tape parallel to the floor. Stand naturally. Measure under your arms, around the widest part of your back and around the fullest part of your bust.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Stand naturally with your heels together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips across both hip bones.
Please Note:
If you are tall or full-figured, or if you are in doubt between two sizes, it's usually best to order the larger size for a more comfortable fit. When choosing a size, your bust, waist and hip may not always fit perfectly into a dress or a costume.
Example Measurements:
Bust: 36" fits a size 8
Waist: 30.5" fits into a size 10
Hip: 40" fits in a size 10
Since the largest measurement is a size 10, we would recommend that size.
Keep in mind that most formal wear dress and costume sizes are not true to normal clothes. It is common that an item size may be a larger size than you are accustomed to.

Hourglass body shapes should stay away from baggy outfits, as they cover up your figure and do not allow you to show off your natural curves. Wraps and dresses with fitted waists enhance your classically feminine form.
Fuller at the hips and bottom and smaller on top.
Tight fabric will not be flattering on any part of your body that has added curves. Dresses or costumes with open-neck or strapless tops enhance your upper body and draw the eye up, while full or A-line skirts help hide wider hips.

Look for dresses with decorative embroidery along the upper body. Costume that can grant you the opportunity to create curves where they may not be any could be another good choice.
A triangle shape lacks curves and has masculine shoulders.
By adding volume around both the thighs and hips, a balanced silhouette can be achieved while downplaying broad shoulders. Details such as ruffles and pleats at the hips or flare-cut bottoms helps create a curvier look.
Weight is carried around the middle, without a well-defined waist.
Empire waists draw the eye up, taking attention away from the middle and allowing a looser fit. Neck details bring the focus up, while full skirts can create an hourglass illusion.
